    Janelle and Adedoyin are two of 161 students in the Uplift Heights Healthcare Institute’s inaugural cohort, a program training the next generation of healthcare professionals.

    Janelle is exploring diagnostic technology, inspired by her family's medical experiences. Adedoyin is gaining hands-on skills, from hurricane relief workshops to blood pressure training, as he prepares to shadow an emergency medicine doctor.

    Students here don’t just study healthcare—they experience it. With workshops and mentorship from Baylor Scott & White Health clinicians, Uplift Heights is preparing students for careers in healthcare.

    These programs go beyond classes—they open doors to real-world opportunities, including dual enrollment credits with partner colleges.

    Meet Bill and Jackie Meacham, long-time supporters and grateful patients of Baylor Scott & White Health. Their journey with Baylor Scott & White spans over 20 years, during which they’ve not only witnessed life-changing care but have also become an integral part of the community.

    The Meachams have given their time and hearts as volunteers at the concierge desk, offering a warm smile and guidance to patients and families during what can often be a difficult time. In addition, they’ve played a pivotal role in supporting advancements in vital areas such as cardiology and cancer care, ensuring that countless others receive the best possible treatment.

    “Baylor Scott & White saved my life,” Mr. Meacham says. “It’s a blessing to be able to help others.”
