COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Jason Jennings, president of Baylor Scott & White Health – College Station Region, has been selected as a 2016 Outstanding Alumnus of the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. He will be honored on Friday, April 1, during an award ceremony at the Miramont Country Club in Bryan, TX.
The College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (CVM) at Texas A&M University established the Outstanding Alumni Awards in 1980 to honor the accomplishments of its graduates. The awards are given each year to recognize alumni who have reached a level of success in their professional careers that brings credit to both the individual and the college.
"It is a high honor to be recognized by my Alma Mater in this way," said Jennings. "I see myself as an ambassador for the University and the college through all of the work I have done since graduation. When I think about the long list of outstanding former students who have received this award in previous years, being selected for this honor is truly a little overwhelming."
Jennings is a 1995 graduate of Texas A&M University and holds a bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences. He went on to earn a master's degree in physical therapy at the University of Texas Medical Branch, followed by an MBA at the University of Texas at Tyler.
Jennings has served as president of the College Station Region for Baylor Scott & White Health for five years, where he has guided the project to build the region's newest hospital located in College Station and overseen a network of clinics and the Brenham hospital. Prior to that appointment, he served as chief operating officer for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Hillcrest in Waco, where he led a team to open a new hospital campus. Jennings' previous leadership positions include chief operating officer at Mary Black Health System in Spartanburg, South Carolina and HealthSouth City View Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas. Jennings is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
