Baylor Scott & White Health Announces Jennifer Mitzner as Chief Financial Officer

DALLAS and TEMPLE, Texas – Baylor Scott & White Health has hired Jennifer Mitzner as executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), effective June 1, 2021. In this role, Mitzner will oversee the health system's finance, accounting and revenue cycle functions to advance the delivery of affordable, high-quality, consumer-centric care.

"Maintaining a strong financial position is critical to our ability to deliver on our mission, caring for patients and health plan members across Texas," said Pete McCanna, president of Baylor Scott & White, to whom Mitzner will report. "I am confident that Jennifer's nearly three decades of strategic, financial and operational experience will be invaluable, helping to extend our legacy of service."

Most recently, Mitzner served as executive vice president of Hoag Health, a California-based multi-hospital system, as well as chief executive officer of its nationally recognized Hoag Orthopedic Institute.

Previously, Mitzner served as CFO of St. Joseph Hoag Health, an integrated network created by the affiliation of St. Joseph Health and Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian. She began her career in the Healthcare Advisory Practice at the accounting firm KPMG.

Mitzner holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Texas Christian University. She will be based at Baylor Scott & White's administrative office in Dallas.
