Baylor Health Care System Foundation Announces Successful Completion Of $250 Million Campaign

Campaign 2015 will build on more than 112 years of excellence

Baylor Health Care System Foundation has announced the successful completion of the first comprehensive fundraising campaign in its history, Campaign 2015: Baylor Makes Us All Better. This unprecedented campaign exceeded the original goal of raising $250 million to invest in patient-focused programs, innovative research, medical education, capital and advanced technology for Baylor Scott & White Health – North Texas.

"For more than 112 years, Baylor has been a leader and innovator in the health care industry," said Joel T. Allison, President and CEO of Baylor Scott & White Health. "The successful completion of Campaign 2015 better equips us to excel in the delivery of safe, quality patient services, and to embrace new models of care to meet the needs of our community's growing population."

Investments to Campaign 2015 have already begun to move mountains: we now have an advanced center for the treatment of cancer; our solid organ transplant center has been elevated to a new level of excellence; we have introduced an innovative comprehensive model of care for those suffering with Alzheimer's; we are working on a project to provide free lodging for cancer patients and their caregivers who travel to Dallas for treatment; and, we have supported a program to greatly improve care for our geriatric patients.

"The community came together to support Baylor's tradition of excellence and they are excited about the impact their contributions will have on healthcare throughout the entire region," said Margo Goodwin, Foundation board chairman and member of the Campaign 2015 Executive Committee.

Campaign 2015 received wide support from the Dallas philanthropic community. To date, nearly 90,000 gifts from more than 30,000 donors helped to raise almost $270 million for Campaign 2015, including 40 gifts of $1 million or more. Importantly, one-hundred percent of the gifts to the Campaign are directed to the donors' designated areas of support.

"We are grateful for the outpouring of support from generous philanthropists, foundations, corporations and leaders in the community. Our donors know their investment is making a significant difference in our community's health. They are part of something historic and meaningful," said Rowland K. Robinson, President of Baylor Health Care System Foundation. "As we look forward, we remain dedicated to our mission to heal, to offer hope and to improve lives. We can – and will – continue to move mountains."
