Baylor Scott & White Health Announces Key Executive Leaders

Internal promotions, new hire reinforce integrated delivery network’s commitment to providing safe, quality care

DALLAS Baylor Scott & White Health recently appointed three executives to key System leadership positions.

Alejandro "Alex" Arroliga, MD, MSc, FCCP, FACP is the chief medical officer. He provides clinical direction to more than 7,500 physicians across 1,100+ access points at Baylor Scott & White. A specialist in pulmonary and critical care medicine, Dr. Arroliga joined Baylor Scott & White in 2006, following more than a decade at the Cleveland Clinic as a professor of medicine.

Janice Walker, DHA©, MBA-HCM, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, was recently named executive vice president in addition to her role as chief nursing officer (CNO). Walker joined Baylor Scott & White in 2010. She previously served as chief nurse executive of the System's Central Texas medical centers, and CNO and chief operating officer of Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth. In her role, Janice continues to help the organization advance clinical best practices among its nursing staff and improve safety and quality outcomes across the System.

Brett Stauffer, MD, MHS, is chief quality officer. He oversees long-term safety and quality planning. Prior to joining Baylor Scott & White in 2008, Dr. Stauffer served as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars fellow at Yale University and as assistant professor of internal medicine at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.
