Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine is excited to pilot a new self-service check-in kiosk for select patients with scheduled procedures. The kiosk helps save time for patients and streamlines the registration process. This new service does not replace registrars who are always available for assistance.
The kiosk allows patients to check-in using a touch screen to monitor and verify their information. Patients are able to electronically sign one time for the consents and the signature applies to all documents, once he/she agrees. They will then confirm their arm band, scan their driver's license and insurance card and continue to their procedure. If payment is due, the patient will be prompted to visit a registrar.
"Our new kiosk helps save time for our patients by streamlining the check-in process," said Linda Minsloff, director of access services at Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine. "We have received a host of positive feedback from patients and their families regarding this new feature."
Baylor Grapevine is one of two facilities in Baylor Health Care System piloting the kiosk. The hospital will explore offering the service at other locations and expanding its functionality.
