Jim Skogsbergh Named to Baylor Scott & White Holdings Board of Trustees

Jim Skogsbergh, a well-respected healthcare leader for more than three decades, has been named to the Baylor Scott & White Holdings Board of Trustees.

Skogsbergh recently served as president and chief executive officer of Advocate Health Care, the largest healthcare system in Illinois, a position he held since 2002. On April 1, he became Co-CEO of Advocate Aurora Health, after guiding the merger of his system with Aurora Health Care of Wisconsin. He has been named one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare by Modern Healthcaresix times. Skogsbergh is a leading voice on healthcare transformation and innovation; national health reform efforts; quality, cost and high-reliability initiatives; patient safety; and healthcare providers' commitment to serving their communities.

Before leading Advocate, Skogsbergh's 35-year healthcare career includes roles as executive vice president of Iowa Health System, and president and chief executive officer of Iowa Methodist, Iowa Lutheran and Blank Children's hospitals. Skogsbergh also has extensive governance experience. He is a former member and past chair of the American Hospital Association (AHA) Board of Directors, former chair of the AHA Section for Health Care Systems Governing Council and a member of Regional Policy Board 5. Skogsbergh also is past chair of the Illinois Hospital Association's Board of Trustees, Chicago United, the American Cancer Society's CEOs Against Cancer and the World Presidents Organization; and he is a past recipient of the B'nai B'rith's 2013 National Healthcare Award.

A fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives, Skogsbergh earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University and a Master of Arts degree from the University of Iowa.
