High School Baseball Season Opens February 20-22 with 2014 Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine First Pitch Classic

Local high school baseball teams will swing baseball season into action with the 2014 First Pitch Classic on February 20-22. The popular tournament showcases the talent and hard work of some of the best athletes in the region and state. It also honors the memory of Grapevine baseball player Chris Gavora who sustained fatal injuries on opening day seven years ago.

Baylor Grapevine will provide trainer and medical coverage for players at all games sites as well as trophies and tournament t-shirts. This is the eighteenth consecutive year the hospital has served as the title sponsor.

"We are excited to be a part of the 2014 Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine First Pitch Classic," said Alan McDougal, tournament director and head baseball coach at Colleyville-Heritage High School.

"This tournament is a great way to begin the season and showcase the talented student athletes in our area. We appreciate Baylor Grapevine for their continued support of this tournament and our community."

Participating high school teams include: Amarillo Tascosa, Canyon, Colleyville Heritage, Euless Trinity, Flower Mound, Grapevine, Irving Nimitz, Keller, Keller Central, Keller Fossil Ridge, Mansfield, Mesquite Poteet, Midlothian, Plano West, Saginaw Boswell and Waxahachie.
