Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine has named Ron Jensen, DO, vice president of medical affairs (VPMA). In this role, he will oversee medical staff initiatives and serve as a member of the senior leadership team. He will provide leadership and facilitation of the hospital medical staff to achieve the goals, mission and vision of the hospital and of Baylor Health Care System.
Since joining Baylor Grapevine in 2006, Dr. Jensen has held the medical director role in the emergency department, he serves on the physician leadership council and was integral in improving patient satisfaction. Under Jensen's leadership the emergency department has improved numerous metrics including: length of stay, left without treatment, door-to-doctor time and patient satisfaction. His leadership helped to secure two Press Ganey awards in 2008 for the emergency department. These nationally-recognized awards highlighted improvements in emergency department patient satisfaction and reduction in wait time initiatives.
Dr. Jensen is highly regarded by the medical staff at Baylor Grapevine and will be a tremendous addition to the leadership team at the hospital," said Doug Lawson, president. "His new role as VPMA will help to create a more integrated and collaborative linkage between the medical staff and the hospital."
Prior to joining Baylor Grapevine, Jensen was the emergency department medical director at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana and emergency department assistant medical director at Baylor Medical Center at Garland. He has also served as emergency department medical director at Baylor All Saints in Fort Worth. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and a bachelors degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a decorated Marine veteran.
