Baylor Scott & White Health today announced Baylor Scott & White Direct Care – a membership-based medical practice located in the Park Cities neighborhood of Dallas. For an annual fee of $200, members can expect access to quality physicians and advanced practice providers, seven days a week.
The practice is operated by the health care system's affiliate, HealthTexas Provider Network (HTPN), a multi-specialty medical group that employs more than 1,300 providers practicing in the North Texas area.
"We developed Baylor Scott & White Direct Care to further our goal of providing quality care in more locations, and flexibility to schedule exactly when you need to see a physician – even if it's that day," said F. David Winter, MD, President and Chairman, HTPN. "Oftentimes, patients have to wait days when the need to see a physician is more immediate, but not necessarily an emergency. The unique and innovative model takes patient care to the next level – offering a modern, relaxed atmosphere with the latest technology, as well as same-day access to providers and extended hours."
The new model of care was created to simplify the health care services process, and will provide a variety of services and perks for members:
- Extended Hours and Increased Access: To provide patients more flexibility and meet busy lifestyle needs, they can schedule appointments seven days a week. Monday through Friday the clinic is open 7 a.m-7 p.m., while Saturday through Sunday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. In addition, the practice provides care for a smaller group of patients, enabling them to spend more time with patients and coordinate care.
- Annual Membership Fee: For an annual fee of $200, patients will receive services and benefits beyond what normal medical practices can provide, as well as have access to a large network of specialists from HTPN. Patients can also inquire about discounts by calling Baylor Scott & White Direct Care if they're interested in having multiple memberships per household.
- Online Appointment Scheduling: Patients will have easy access to book online via the DirectCareDFW.com website, can reserve their spot in line to skip the wait and can also book same-day appointments.
- Personalized Care: With two, onsite providers, Baylor Scott & White Direct Care offers an individualized approach to patient care with minimal to no wait times.
- Variety of Services: The location provides numerous same-day services, including: primary care, pediatrics and family medicine, women's health, school and work physicals, nutrition consultations and has an on-site lab.
