More than 100 people whose lives were impacted by organ transplantation will gather at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, on the first floor of the Roberts Hospital at Baylor University Medical Center, 3500 Gaston, Dallas, Texas 75246.
These patients of the Annette C. and Harold C. Simmons Transplant Institute will be on hand to watch the unveiling of the new living donor wall, which will showcase the names of 46 people who have donated a kidney or part of their liver to someone in need in 2011 and 2012.
“This living donor wall, which we have located on the heavily-trafficked first floor of our hospital, will show to all the impact that organ donation has in our society,” said Dr. Goran Klintmalm, chief of transplantation with the Annette C. and Harold C. Simmons Transplant Institute. “We hope to use this opportunity to recognize these donors’ generosity, while also increasing awareness about the importance of being an organ donor.”
