The new Behavioral Health Center at Baylor Plano offers behavioral health consults for patients struggling with a medical condition or associated problems. Jamile (Jay) Ashmore, PhD, will serve as clinical director of the Behavioral Health Center. Dr. Ashmore is a licensed psychologist and obtained received his PhD in clinical psychology from The Ohio State University. He completed his clinical training in Medical Psychology at Duke University Medical Center and was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship at The Cooper Institute in Dallas. Prior to joining Baylor Plano, Dr. Ashmore served as Vice President at the Cooper Aerobics Center and maintained a clinical practice. He currently has appointments as clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Tyler and in the Department of Psychology at Southern Methodist University. Dr. Ashmore’s ongoing research focuses on the biological, psychological, and social aspects of chronic disease.
