Baylor Scott & White Health has named Jeffrey C. Ingrum as chief executive officer of the Scott & White Health Plan, Texas' highest rated HMO* as well as a PPO and short-term health plan provider. Ingrum is a highly experienced health plan executive, most recently serving as CEO of Carle Foundation's Health Alliance Medical Plans, based in Illinois. He is set to take over as CEO of the Health Plan on April 25, 2016.
"In my role at Health Alliance, I followed and admired the Scott & White Health Plan — its people, its reputation and its integrated delivery network," says Ingrum. "So I am very excited to be part of a nationally-recognized organization that is so focused on patients and membership."
The Scott & White Health Plan currently covers nearly 300,000 Texans, offering a wide network of physicians, dentists, other providers, hospitals, clinics and pharmacies throughout the state. As CEO of the Health Plan, Ingrum will be responsible for working with individuals, employers and providers to manage the health and wellness of Texas communities. As a key part of Baylor Scott & White, his focus for the Health Plan will be ongoing improvements to quality and service, as health care continues to move away from fee-for-service reimbursement towards outcomes-based reimbursement.
During his tenure at Health Alliance, Ingrum was responsible for maintaining and expanding the plan to become a preeminent provider-sponsored health plan. In partnership with employers, providers and payers, he created a system to manage the health and wellness of its communities. He facilitated provider partner movement from fee-for-service reimbursement to outcomes-based reimbursement, while also developing new products and maintaining a robust workplace culture.
"Jeff has a strong history of effectively managing and growing health plans to benefit both members and the community," says Joel Allison, president and CEO of Baylor Scott & White Health. "His background in health plan and health care finance and his record of excellence make him a great fit for our organization and for improving the health of those we serve across this great state."
Ingrum holds a master's degree in health services administration from College of St. Francis and a bachelor's degree in business and accounting from Eastern Illinois University. He will be based in Temple, Texas.
