Digital At-Home Monitoring for Texans Diagnosed with COVID-19

MyBSWHealth app has helped more than 56,000 Texans recover at home

DALLAS, Texas – As COVID-19 infections increase in communities throughout the state, Baylor Scott & White Health has digital care options via the MyBSWHealth app and online portal to provide support for Texans who have been diagnosed with mild to moderate COVID-19 illness. This is available for both adults and children.

Those with concerns about their risk of infection with COVID-19 can make use of Baylor Scott & White's online screening questionnaire:

If, after a screening and consultation, a patient is diagnosed with COVID-19, he or she is automatically enrolled in Baylor Scott & White’s “COVID-19 home monitoring digital care journey” which includes monitoring for patients while they are isolating at home:

  • Detailed quarantine instructions
  • Daily symptom checking
  • Dedicated care management
  • Telehealth visits

The app, screening and at-home monitoring are open to all – users need not have been a patient of Baylor Scott & White prior to using this service, as a medical record is established once users begin the process. If a patient receives a COVID-19 diagnosis from a non-Baylor Scott & White provider, he or she must complete the COVID-19 screening and consultation to be enrolled in the digital care journey.

Launched in 2018, the MyBSWHealth app has emerged as a leading digital tool in Texas in the fight against COVID-19, providing nearly 368,000 digital screenings and more than 81,000 eVisits related to the virus. This process has allowed tens of thousands of Texans with mild symptoms to be evaluated outside of Baylor Scott & White clinics and emergency departments—further ensuring that hospitals are ready for those who need care most during this time. The app provides digital access to direct communication with Baylor Scott & White care teams, prescription management, appointment scheduling, virtual visits, and more. It will also be used to schedule vaccination appointments as Baylor Scott & White prepares to distribute the vaccine to patients, members and the public.
