After months of deploying the best-known defenses against COVID-19 – mask wearing, hand washing and physical distancing – frontline healthcare workers are now receiving a new and important defense: a vaccine.
Baylor Scott & White Health’s vaccination task force has been working tirelessly for months to ensure teams are prepared to receive, store and safely distribute vaccines for the prevention of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) as soon as they are granted emergency use authorization from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
Sites throughout the health system have begun receiving shipments and vaccinating frontline healthcare workers. Each site stands prepared to receive shipments as they are allocated and dispatched.
