Brenham Hospital Celebrates New Name with Community Event

Introducing:  Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Brenham

BRENHAM, Texas – Baylor Scott & White Health will officially announce the new name of its Brenham hospital at a special community event today. Scott & White Hospital – Brenham is now Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Brenham. The signs with the new name were installed on the outside of the hospital just over a week ago.

"Brenham hospital has served the community for more than 20 years, and today we begin the next chapter, and the future is very bright," said Jason Jennings, president of Baylor Scott & White Health – College Station region, which includes the Brenham hospital. "Today we draw on expanded resources, advanced technologies and expertise of the Baylor Scott & White Health system – the result of the combination of two preeminent health organizations, both with outstanding reputations. This is more than a name on the building; it reflects a pride and commitment to the people of Brenham. We celebrate the service provided to the community over the years by physicians and staff, and the pledge of service for tomorrow."

The new sign will be unveiled in an afternoon celebration on the hospital grounds. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Brenham is a 60-bed, Level IV trauma center, fully accredited acute care hospital with an adjacent medical office building for specialty clinic care, located at U.S. Hwy 290.

The Brenham hospital is the latest facility to be branded under Baylor Scott & White Health, which was formed in the 2013 merger between Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Healthcare. The not-for-profit health system, which today is the largest in Texas, has been systematically renaming all of its 48 hospitals across Central and North Texas  since the systems' merged, taking the time to accomplish the task in a fiscally responsible manner.
