Baylor Scott & White Health today announced that it completed the acquisition of Tenet Healthcare's (NYSE:THC) minority interest in Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Centennial and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lake Pointe. Baylor Scott & White is now the manager and operator of both hospitals.
Also being announced:
- Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) at Dallas acquired The ER on Lovers Lane. The facility will be operated as an outpatient department of BUMC under the name Baylor Scott & White Emergency Center – Lovers Lane. The ER on Lovers Lane was previously operated as an outpatient department of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – White Rock, a co-owned hospital with Tenet, which has been sold to Pipeline Health, LLC, effective today.
- Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Sunnyvale is now part of the Texas Health Ventures Group (THVG), an existing joint venture between Baylor Scott & White and Tenet's subsidiary United Surgical Partners International (USPI). Tenet transferred its minority interest and operations to USPI. Baylor Scott & White continues to be the majority owner.
- Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Garland officially closed its doors at 11:59 pm on February 28, 2018, after proudly serving the Garland community for more than five decades.
All five hospitals were part of a joint venture with Baylor Scott & White and Tenet since January 2016.
