Baylor Plano Announces Opening of Baylor Diagnostic Imaging Center at Craig Ranch

On Tuesday, April 14, Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano will open the doors to the new 9,586-square-foot Baylor Diagnostic Imaging Center at Craig Ranch, located at 8080 S. State Highway 121, Suite 220 in McKinney to help accommodate the increasing healthcare needs from continued population growth . The Imaging Center will open with three full-time employees, growing to seven by the fourth quarter of 2009.

Full service, digital imaging and diagnostic services will include dual-head molecular breast imaging, mammography, ultrasound, bone density, MRI, CT, nuclear medicine, and diagnostic radiology. The new facility is one of only six in the world to offer dual-head molecular breast imaging, which offers benefits over digital mammography, including definitively visualizing tumors less than 2 cm. in size, from two camera angles.

The population of McKinney and the surrounding area is expected to grow 34.5 percent between 2006 and 2011.  According to the most recent Census data (released March 21, 2007). Collin County is the eighth-fastest growing county in the nation in numbers of people. In fact, Collin County is growing faster than Denton and Dallas counties.
