For Women For Life™ is a free event hosted by Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano and THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano where women can take a morning to focus on their health, wellness, beauty and lifestyle. The event will be held on the combined health care campus of Baylor Plano and THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano located at 4700 Alliance Blvd., in Plano on Saturday, January 28 from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The free health fair will provide health screenings, seminars, non-profit exhibitors, and door prizes all with the intent of helping women in our community of all ages to improve their health. This year we will be offering seminars on the following topics:
- Updates on Breast Cancer Research, Treatment and Prevention
Presented by Lynn Canavan, M.D., breast surgeon on the medical staff at Baylor Plano
Learn about the latest technology to screen for breast cancer and find out how your genetic make-up plays a role in risk for breast cancer.
- Regaining Control of Female Incontinence
Presented by Daryl Greebon, M.D., gynecologist on the medical staff at Baylor Plano
Learn about prevention, symptoms, risk factors and treatment options of female incontinence.
THE HEART HOSPITAL Baylor Plano will also offer a physician panel on heart health for women.
While the event offers various screenings, guests should select their top favorites to attend first, and attend other screenings as time permits. The For Women For Life event will also include free screenings for:
- Skin cancer
- Low bone density
- Abnormal body mass index
- Hearing problems
- Scoliosis
- Insufficient lung volume
- Abnormal cholesterol levels
- High blood pressure
- High glucose levels
A shuttle will transport women between the two hospitals so they can take advantage of the offerings at both locations.
