Baylor Regional Medical Center at Grapevine is pleased to announce the dedication of the "Garden of Hope" memorial garden for families who have experienced early pregnancy loss. The ceremony will be held at Parker Memorial Cemetery in Grapevine on Saturday, July 11 at 10 a.m.
"We hope this memorial garden offers solace and becomes a peaceful place where bereaved parents and families know their loved ones are resting in peace," said Doug Lawson, Baylor Grapevine president. "It is an honor for us to journey with these families."
The "Garden of Hope" was created to serve as a place where families can honor and celebrate the memory of their loved ones. The idea originated from Baylor Grapevine staff that desired to help provide families with decedent care options after they have experienced early pregnancy loss. The memorial garden was made possible by the staff at Baylor Grapevine and generous gifts from donors and volunteers. According to the March of Dimes, approximately 10 to 15 percent of recognized pregnancies result in early pregnancy loss--which is the termination of pregnancy before 20 weeks gestation or babies with a fetal weight less than 500 grams.
