Baylor Health Care System Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Paul Convery, M.D., has again made Modern Healthcare magazine's "50 Most Powerful Physician-Executives" list.
The annual list is comprised of physician leaders in health care management who are voted byModern Healthcare readers and others as influential in the health care industry. Dr. Convery ranks No. 8 on this year's list.
"Dr. Convery's selection to this list is an indication of the national recognition that Baylor is receiving in our efforts to improve health care and be an industry leader on the national stage," says Joel Allison, president and chief executive officer, Baylor Health Care System.
As CMO, Dr. Convery works with physician, nursing and operational leadership to advance health care improvement initiatives throughout the System.
Dr. Convery has more than 18 years of medical management and health care leadership experience, including serving as chief medical officer of SSM Health Care in St. Louis, MO. During his tenure there, SSM won the distinguished National Institute of Standards and Technology's Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award.
Prior to joining SSM Health Care, Dr. Convery was the medical director of Southwest Medical Center, a large multi-specialty group practice in St. Louis. He also practiced internal medicine for 22 years.
