Abstract/Study Purpose: Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) offers revascularization for complex lesions. However, heavily calcified and chronically occluded lesions pose significant challenges for crossing and optimal outcomes. This presentation details a complex case integrating rotational atherectomy and shockwave intravascular lithoplasty (IVL) to achieve successful revascularization.

Presentation: Intravenous vs Intracoronary Adenosine for the Determination of Coronary Flow Reserve and Index of Microcirculatory Resistance
-
Presenter: Fazal Dalal, DO
-
Time: 1:35 p.m. - 1:40 p.m. PST
-
Abstract/Study Purpose: Coronary Flow Reserve (CFR) and Index of Microcirculatory Resistance (IMR) obtained via coronary bolus thermodilution assess microvascular function. Previous studies demonstrate comparable results assessing ischemia by fractional flow reserve using intravenous (IV) or intracoronary (IC) adenosine. It is unknown if there is similarity when assessing CFR and IMR using coronary thermodilution.

Presentation: Double Trouble: Navigating Two Bifurcation Lesions in a Complex Intervention for Left Anterior Descending Artery Complete Occlusion
-
Presenter: Modar Alom
-
Time: 2:52 p.m. - 2:56 p.m. PST
-
Abstract/Study Purpose: Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for chronic total occlusion (CTO) stands as one of the most challenging procedures in the modern endovascular realm. Advances in interventional cardiology have spurred the development of specialized techniques and equipment tailored for CTO-PCIs. The intricacies escalate when dealing with bifurcation lesions, introducing an additional layer of complexity to CTO-PCI. In this context, we present a complex case involving left anterior descending (LAD) CTO-PCIs, where two distinct bifurcation lesions were successfully addressed using a combination of reverse controlled antegrade and retrograde tracking (CART), double kissing (DK) crush, and reverse culotte techniques.

Poster Presentation: Valve-in-Valve Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement in Patients with Previous Aortic Homograft/stentless bioprosthetic valve
-
Presenter: Ghadi Moubarak, MD
-
Time: 8 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. PST
-
Abstract/Study Purpose: Valve-in-valve (ViV) transcatheter aortic replacement (TAVR) is an alternative to redo surgery for failing aortic bioprosthesis. Most ViV-TAVR procedures have been performed in failing stented bioprosthetic valves; stentless bioprostheses are more challenging for transcatheter therapy. This study sought to evaluate the outcomes after TAVR in previous homograft/stentless surgical aortic replacement (SAVR).

Poster Presentation: Analysis of Procedure Volume and Outcomes of Surgical and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement following Regulatory Approval of low-surgical risk patients
-
Presenter: Ghadi Moubarak, MD
-
Time: 8 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. PST
-
Abstract/Study Purpose: Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) was approved in 2019 by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of aortic stenosis in patients at low surgical risk. We sought to determine the impact of this approval on procedure volume and outcomes for all patients treated by TAVR or surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR).

Abstract/Study Purpose: Percutaneous mitral balloon commissurotomy (PMBC) is recommended for the treatment of symptomatic rheumatic mitral valve stenosis (RMS) in patients with suitable mitral valve anatomy. Intracardiac ultrasound (ICE) guided PMBC is an attractive alternative to standard transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) guidance.
