FRISCO, Texas – Baylor Scott & White Health will soon open its newest campus, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco at PGA Parkway. Designed to meet the needs of Texans today and in the future, the medical center will provide important healthcare infrastructure for a region that continues to experience record growth.
"As the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas, we reinvest surpluses into the communities we serve," said Ryan Gebhart, president, Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Frisco at PGA Parkway. "Baylor Scott & White is committed to expanding access to high-quality care built on a legacy of clinical excellence. As North Texas continues to grow, this new medical center is poised to meet the needs of a thriving region."
Addressing the Healthcare Needs of a Growing Population
According to IBM Watson Health, this area of North Texas is growing at a rate higher than both the state of Texas and the country. Data from the U.S. Census Bureau shows that three of the top five fastest-growing cities in the U.S. by percentage are located within about 24 miles of the new medical center.
"This campus is built with North Texas's future in mind, with deep expertise in inpatient and emergency care," said Eric Beshires, MD, chief medical officer, Baylor Scott & White – Frisco at PGA Parkway. "As we enter our third decade of Baylor Scott & White's service within the City of Frisco, we are committed to continuing to grow with the community to meet the changing needs of this area."
Intentional Design to Support Wellness and Healing
The new 40-acre campus will offer communal green spaces, more than two miles of trails, health and wellness events and activities for everyone to enjoy. The goal is to blend high-quality care with community-centered innovation.
"What truly sets this medical center apart is the thoughtful design of our campus and its interconnectivity to Baylor Scott & White's digital care options," said Gebhart. "Baylor Scott & White's vision is 'Empowering You to Live Well.' That means we want to help our patients and customers with what they need to live better. We offer high-quality care in a hospital setting, convenient care when and where they want it — including on their smartphones or in the comfort of their homes — and wellness offerings to avoid needing 'sick care' altogether."
One example of this approach is the hospital's Center for Women and Infants. Before being treated at the medical center once it opens later this summer, an expectant mother can use the MyBSWHealth app or website to be connected to pre-natal services, educational tools, and 24/7 access to virtual care. Then, upon arrival at the hospital, expectant mothers will find a dedicated entrance, private elevator, and an entire floor devoted exclusively for women, with an environment that reflects the hospital's focus on comfort, dignity, and privacy.
"Each woman's journey is unique, and we aim to support her clinically, emotionally, and physically from adolescence through motherhood and beyond," said Christin Timmons, vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Baylor Scott & White – Frisco at PGA Parkway. "Our Center for Women and Infants has been designed for a smooth and supportive journey from the moment patients arrive to the time they are ready to depart the hospital, with care continuously available both before and after their hospital stay through our digital care platform, MyBSWHealth. Every detail is designed to support our patients."
"We are striving to offer a care setting where innovation meets compassion. A place where healing extends beyond procedures and medications, and where our North Texas neighbors feel the power to live better," said Gebhart.
