New Retail Pharmacy Opens Inside the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – College Station

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Patients leaving the clinic or hospital at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – College Station can now stop at a pharmacy to fill prescriptions before they leave the building.

A new retail pharmacy on the first floor of the hospital gives patients the opportunity to leave the hospital with required medications in their hands, eliminating the need to stop and fill prescriptions on the way home.

"We are constantly looking for ways to improve our patients' experience," said Jason Jennings, president of the Baylor Scott & White College Station Region. "With this new service, we hope to make filling prescriptions more convenient, so our patients can get home quickly and the healing process can begin."

The new outpatient pharmacy is on the hospital's ground floor across the lobby from the gift shop.

In addition to serving walk-in customers, the new pharmacy inside the medical center provides a prescription delivery service to hospital patients right before discharge. The bedside delivery service brings medications to patients in their hospital rooms as they prepare to leave the hospital.

"We started a pilot program for the bedside service program more than a year ago and it has been well received," said John Wilson, director of pharmacy operations. "Once the prescriptions are filled in the new retail pharmacy, they are delivered to the patients in their hospital room by a licensed pharmacy technician. Certified pharmacists are available for patient education and counseling."

This is the third pharmacy Baylor Scott & White has opened in the Bryan/College Station area. The organization now has 23 retail pharmacy locations across North and Central Texas, which comprises one of the top pharmacy chains in the country.

The new retail pharmacy in the hospital lobby is open weekdays 8 a.m. – 7 p.m., with weekend hours Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m.–5 p.m.  These are the same hours for all Baylor Scott & White pharmacy locations in the Bryan/College Station area:

  • 1296 Arrington Road, Suite 200,
    College Station
  • 1110 Earl Rudder Freeway South (adjacent to Scott & White Clinic),
