Exercise After Breast Cancer Surgery May Be Good


December 21, 2010 — Beating breast cancer is a tough battle that doesn’t end when the tumor is gone. Physicians once believed that "less is more" regarding post-surgery physical activity. Survivor Jody Niece now plays competitive tennis just as she did before her breast cancer surgery. Manish Gupta, M.D., oncologist/Baylor Plano, discussed new study that examined if exercise increased likelihood of lymphadema. Researchers concluded exercise doesn’t increase risk of lymphedema.
