CW33: Blood Test For Cancer

Scientists believe a new blood test may someday be able to detect cancer. Baylor Irving radiation oncologist Anand Shivnani believes the breakthrough has potential to both detect and perhaps monitor cancer. “For a long time we've had to rely on physical exams and CT scans and other types of scans to follow patients," Dr. Shivnani said. Now a microchip that looks like a lab slide can detect smaller cancer cells.
