Created with health and wellness in mind, the facility will serve as the site for Baylor Scott & White programs and initiatives focused on healthy living, including health and wellness seminars, nutrition classes, and more. Integrated model: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Pflugerville will include a hospital and an integrated multi-specialty medical clinic, a unique model of care delivery that allows for greater coordination among hospital and clinic medical team members where health care providers can work on the same patients in tandem. Coupled with an electronic medical record used across the care continuum, this model helps improve the patient experience and prevent unnecessary medical tests, while aiming to reduce the amount of time a patient spends in the hospital. Convenient, quality care where you want it: The Pflugerville medical center will offer closer, more convenient care, while providing access to trusted clinicians. Baylor Scott & White takes a team approach to caring for every patient so they get the highest quality care possible. Focus on health care, not sick care: The location has been designed to focus on health and wellness, offering members of the community the tools and resources to become their best selves. For example, the medical center's café has been designed as a "teaching kitchen" for Baylor Scott & White team members to host healthy cooking classes. Integrative medicine will be offered at the medical center, with services to include acupuncture and massage. Baylor Scott & White will also expand on its sponsorships of healthy community events in the Pflugerville area, giving this growing community more options to make health and wellness an integral part of their daily lives. Why Pflugerville: Extensive research was conducted to evaluate what makes the most sense to best serve the Pflugerville community. Baylor Scott & White has a long-standing history of providing quality medical care to residents and families of Northern Travis and Williamson Counties, with more than 19 clinics and four hospitals as of January 2017. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Pflugerville will be the first medical center in Travis County built under the Baylor Scott & White name. The new medical center and clinic will offer the quality medical care available at centers throughout the health system and will have a focus on activities and programs designed to highlight healthy living habits. |
